Biography
Anne-Marie McDermott joined Newman University permanently in 2015, following a year here as a Visiting Lecturer. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in Business and Marketing, teaching on both the BA (Hons) Business Management, and the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance degrees.
Prior to a career in academia, following graduating from Sheffield Hallam university with a BSc (Hons) Hotel & Catering Management, she enjoyed a very different lifestyle, running hotels. Knowing that you are a key part in making peoples events successful, and facilitating them making memories, is a really rewarding career! Following completing a MA Hospitality Management, Anne-Marie started lecturing.
Anne-Marie’s interest is currently in flexible working and equality in the workplace.

Anne-Marie started teaching in universities in 2009, at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Her work experience enables her to teach most subjects in the area, but her passions are Marketing, People Management and Leadership, and Academic and Professional Skills.
