Joseph Bridgewater


Joseph was a Visiting Lecturer for the Faculty of Education for two years and is currently a Senior Lecturer on the Primary Initial Teacher Education programmes.

Following the completion of his BA in PITE with English Specialism, Joseph gained over a decade of experience working in a range of primary and secondary schools across the UK and has taught also English internationally. Joseph holds an MA in Education and has interests in Transpersonal Psychology and Emotional Intelligence.

At present, Joseph is studying for a PG Certificate in Higher Education and a PhD here at Newman. For his PhD, Joseph is exploring the effects of transpersonal practices, such as meditation, on the development of the human psyche. This research weaves together his passions for psychology, self-development and well-being.
