Kathrine Whelan

Biography

Kat is the programme leader and senior lecturer for the BSc Sports and Exercise Therapy degree here at Birmingham Newman University. While she is a Graduate Sports Therapist, she is also an UKSCA Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach, and Olympic Weightlifting coach. Kat has worked in various professional and elite sporting environments both as a Sports Therapist and Strength and Conditioning Coach. She previously worked in professional football with Coventry United Ladies FC as the 1st team sports therapist while they were in the Barclays Women Championship. More recently she worked with Boldmere St Michaels Women FC as the lead S&C coach and head of medical and with Wales Lacrosse leading the S&C provision for the women’s senior development team.
