Margaret Holland

Biography

Margaret is our University Chaplain and leads our Chaplaincy team. She is a qualified Youth and Community Worker, and achieved an MA in Contemporary Theology here at Newman University whilst in role. Having previously worked for the Archdiocese of Birmingham’s Catholic Youth Service as their Black Country Area Officer, Margaret’s inclusive approach to Chaplaincy is very much informed and nourished by her Catholic faith.

Born and raised in Co Cork, Ireland, she enjoys the diversity and multi-faith setting that is Birmingham and the West Midlands.
During her time as a Chaplain, Margaret has been instrumental in the development and teaching of our postgraduate courses in Chaplaincy (Postgraduate Certificate and MA). This interaction with current Chaplains across a diversity of settings has seen her own Chaplaincy practice and that of the team develop and renew year on year.
