Sarah Bott

Biography

Sarah joined Newman University in September 2021 as a senior lecturer on the Primary ITTE undergraduate and PGCE course.

Prior to this Sarah spent 25 years working in primary schools in Sandwell, including a wide variety of social economic and cultural contexts. For 18 years she held Senior Leadership roles – with 14 of those as Headteacher.

Sarah completed the National Professional Qualification in Headship in 2006.

Key responsibilities in a school setting have included: whole school leadership and management, leading teaching and learning, curriculum development, performance management, health and safety, strategic school improvement planning, safeguarding, inclusion, assessment, financial management and community links.

These experiences have enabled Sarah to share with students an in-depth working knowledge in a range of school policies and practices.

Sarah teaches on the Early Years specialism and Adaptive Practice sessions with undergraduates and postgraduates.

Administrative Responsibilities

Sarah supports the finding of and allocation of school placements for teaching experience.
