Steve Roberts


Steve is a lecturer and psychotherapist.  His integrative approach assimilates CBT with a strongly person-centred, experiential core.

After initially graduating in History, Steve undertook a commercial management career in the transport and financial services industries before commencing psychotherapy training. Since qualifying in 2004, he has worked in community counselling services, residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation, welfare to work, and in outpatient mental health clinics and psychiatric inpatient hospitals. His PhD was an evaluation of a national welfare to work programme which assisted incapacity benefit claimants back into employment using CBT for anxiety, depression and stress.

He maintains a strong interest in rehabilitation for work and also for addiction. Steve has worked in Higher Education since 2018.  He believes firmly in the restorative and creative value of both counselling and education the lives of people of all ages.
