Stratis-Andreas Efthymiou

One of my core principles is coming up with imaginative and effective solutions to do the 'right thing'.
Dr Stratis-Andreas Efthymiou

As an author of Nationalism, Militarism and Masculinity (Palgrave, 2019) and an interdisciplinary social scientist, Dr Stratis Efthymiou specializes in militarism and gender, radical movements, and policing. He holds a BA in Sociology, a MSc in Comparative and Cross Cultural Research Methods, and a PhD in Sociology from the University of Sussex. Research Interests

Working at the intersection of academia and consultancy by applying Sociology and Criminology to policy, Dr Efthymiou’s research interests lie in militarism, gender, and radicalisation. His research has been featured in numerous international higher-ranking journals, including European Security, Critical Military Studies, Defense Studies, and Political and Military Sociology. His book ????????????????????????????????????????????, ???????????????????????????????????????? ???????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????? ???????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? was published by Palgrave Macmillan and translated to German by Springer (2023).

Dr Efthymiou is passionate about delivering impact through policy, especially in the security sector. For example, as an advisor to the Cyprus Minister of Defense, he designed the welfare policy of the army, leading to increased social contribution of the military and better civil-military relations.
