Award details

The name that appears on your award certificate will be your full name as it is on your student record (including all middle names) at the time of printing, unless you inform us otherwise.

You’ll need to provide original evidence to support any amendments to your name on your student record (e.g., a marriage certificate). Photocopies cannot be accepted.

Your name (first name and surname only) will be included in the Graduation programme when your award is announced at the ceremony.

The date on your award certificate will be the date of Graduation, not the date your qualification was awarded at the Programme Assessment Boards (which is the date on your final academic transcript). This is because the Graduation date is when your award is formally conferred by Birmingham Newman University, and you officially become a ‘graduate’ of the University.

A formal letter confirming your award completion date, as shown on your final academic transcript, can be provided. Please contact registry@newman.ac.uk.

In the case of an emergency or force majeure, events associated with the student lifecycle i.e. graduation ceremonies may need to be cancelled.
