Semester 1
Week beginning 22 September 2025
- Monday: 1pm to 3pm and 4pm to 6pm
- Tuesday: 3pm to 6pm
Full details of your individual academic timetable, including Semester 2 timetable which may differ, will be available via your university email calendar after you have completed online enrolment and set up your student login.
To prepare for the course, students are encouraged to complete the following:
- Make sure to visit the Business Management Programme website
- Familiarise yourself with the modules at first year (Level 4).

TED Talks such as Simon Sinek’s ‘Start With Why’ and Amy Edmondson’s ‘The Power of Psychological Safety’
Activity:
- Reflect on a business or brand you admire. Consider its strategy, leadership style, and customer engagement. Be ready to share your thoughts during induction week.

Each member of our team brings a unique perspective and is committed to delivering an engaging and supportive learning experience.
In Semester 1, students will engage with the following core modules:
- BEU 421 Personal Development for Managers and Entrepreneurs (40 credits)
- BEU 422 Introduction to Management (20 credits)
- BEU 423 Principles of Marketing (20 credits)
Teaching is delivered through a blended model: asynchronous online lectures and in-person seminars. This flexible approach supports students with varied commitments and promotes active learning. The DESA model (Discover, Explore, Share and Apply) guides the learning journey, encouraging students to acquire knowledge, investigate topics, and apply insights through discussion and collaboration.
HeadStart – Monday 1 to Friday 5 September 2025
Headstart is a programme aimed at introducing our new students to University life. We understand that our students come from all walks of life and have personal and individual aspirations for taking this important step in their journey.
This programme is an opportunity to:
- Talk to staff before starting university
- Meet other students
- Understand and navigate the campus
- Find out about the support available
- Start getting comfortable with university life
