Paying Your Student Fees

Within the tabs below, you can find useful guidance about paying your tuition fees, depending on your course level.

If you have any questions about fees or funding, please contact our friendly and helpful Finance Team, who will be happy to advise you further.

As a full time student (undergraduate, foundation degree, PGCE or School Direct Training Programme Non-Salaried), you should have already made an application to Student Finance for your funding, including tuition fees and maintenance loans, if required via the government website.

As part of the enrolment process full-time students will be asked if you have a tuition fee loan confirmed.  If this is the case, you will proceed through the enrolment task and funds released from Student Finance 5-7 days after the course start date.

If you select that you are paying your own fees, funded by a third party or your loan is not confirmed to the University by Student Finance, the Newman University credit control team will contact you to request an online payment plan is set up.

PGCE students, in receipt of a Training Bursary, can use their bursary to pay their fees.  Please contact the finance team via finance@newman.ac.uk to request this.

If you have any queries, please contact the Finance Team – finance@newman.ac.uk/ 0121 387 4589.

Unlike other Tuition Fee Loans, 100% of the Postgraduate Loan is paid to directly to the student (not to the University).  Therefore, all students studying at postgraduate level are treated as paying their own fees. Payment for all Masters Level courses can be set to fall in line with when you receive payment from student finance.

To set up online payments visit the Online Payments page.

If your employer or a sponsor has agreed to fund all or part of your Tuition Fees, please contact the finance team prior to enrolment. You will be required to provide full contact details of your sponsor/employer during the online enrolment process.  If they fail to honour payment, the liability will be with the student.

If you have any queries, please contact the Finance Team – finance@newman.ac.uk/ 0121 387 4589.

All students who are paying their own fees (not taking out an undergraduate loan) will be asked to sign a Tuition Fee Payment Acknowledgment Form at enrolment. You will be prompted to set up an online payment plan during the online enrolment process.  If this has not been set up within 2 weeks of enrolment our Finance Team will contact you.

For EU students applications need to be made via the Student Finance Services European Team.

All students have two weeks from the start date of their course in which to withdraw without incurring tuition fee charges.

Full details of the University’s Debt Management Policy, including further information regarding Tuition Fee Liability, can be found on our finance webpage. We strongly recommend that all students read this information.

If you have any queries, please contact the Finance Team – finance@newman.ac.uk/ 0121 387 4589.
