Kevin Hogan

Kevin Hogan

Kevin is a Senior Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy and Programme Lead for Counselling Mental Health and Wellbeing BA (Hons). Kevin’s research interests lie in the fields of student learning, counselling integration and male mental health.

Linda Luckhurst is Senior Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy and Programme Lead BA (Hons) Counselling Studies and Working with Children, Young People and Families.

Tara Morrey

Tara Morrey

Tara Morrey is a lecturer on the Counselling Studies Combined Honours programme. She is currently teaching a module that introduces counselling, a module on counselling and philosophy and a module on advanced counselling skills. She is also teaching counselling skills on some of the trainee counsellors’ foundation degree courses and on the graduate certificate programme. Tara also supervises students who are working on counselling, or counselling psychology, dissertations.

In semester 1 (starting in September 2022) you will be studying three modules, these are: COU421 Counselling professions and academic practice, COU424 Human development and COU422 Humanistic Counselling.

Counselling professions and academic practice -in this module you will learn about the range of settings in which helping takes place professionally and develop your own use of helping skills. Basic academic skills will be developed using a range of group-based explorations of key texts.

Human development – In this module you will learn about human development and the impact of relationships, family and socio-political context on individual identity. Humanistic Counselling – As part of this module you will learn about the three main theories of counselling used in the UK, with a particular focus on the Humanistic Approach. You will practice using Humanistic Skills in a counselling skills scenario.

Mondays 10:00am-13:00pm, 14:00-17.00pm

Thursdays 12:00-15:00pm
