Founded in 1968 by the Catholic Education Service to train teachers, Newman University has diversified into other areas including both traditional single and joint honours degrees and foundation degrees. However, the founding principles of supporting students and providing opportunity to all continue to influence the work of Newman.
Newman University is a diverse and multi–cultural community. Staff and students from overseas make up the staff and student body and come from a wide variety of social, ethnic and religious backgrounds. Newman University aims to be an Equal Opportunities employer and it is our policy to recruit staff solely on merit, irrespective of ethnic origin, religious belief, sexual orientation, disability, gender or age.
