Brief Summary

Full-time students will take two modules in Semester 1 and each will run online (2 hrs) on two weekday evenings. There will also be opportunities for on-campus sessions.

In ‘Introduction to the New Humanities’ you will encounter a range of new theoretical approaches to the Humanities, including new materialist, environmental, and digital methodologies. You will explore how these new ideas relate to your previous studies and draw on one another’s experiences and knowledge.

Your second module, ‘Humanities at Work’ considers the value of the Humanities as a subject for various sectors and industries. The module will help you to identify your aspirations and needs in terms of graduate employability and/or further study.

Later in the semester, you will work together on a project that explores the role of the Humanities in rapidly changing technological and social contexts.
