Counselling – Professional Training
Welcome to the Counselling – Professional Training Programme
Team
The FD Integrative Counselling programme has staff members from across the team who are all trained or doing further training in professional counselling or psychotherapy.
There is a wealth of experience in professional counselling across the team. Hence, we are well-placed to teach and work alongside you as you develop your counselling competencies during the programme.
Brief Summary
In your first semester, you will study:
- COF431 Professional Counselling Skills. This is a module which includes a professional development group, counselling skills teaching and practice.
- COF432 Theoretical Perspectives for Counselling 1. In this module, you will learn more about the concepts of person-centred theory and Psychodynamic Theory and apply these concepts to relevant case studies.
Pre-Course Reading
The main text book for the FD Integrative Counselling Programme that we recommend you purchase is Andrew Reeves ‘An Introduction to Counselling and Psychotherapy’. 2nd Edn. London: SAGE Publications Ltd.
Planned Online Meetings
For our professional FD Integrative Counselling training programme, we recognise that many of our students also work alongside the programme.
We will have a welcome and induction morning with you on the first day of the semester in September 2023.
