Team

I am Shaun Ostle, the Programme Leader for Professional policing.

I worked as a police officer for 30 years in Nottinghamshire, with over half of my service as a Chief Inspector, leading different departments such as Armed Policing, Control Rooms, Nottingham City Centre, and Citizens in Policing, before retiring in 2019.

I started teaching policing degrees at the University of Derby before moving to Newman to set up the policing department and degree in 2021.

Brief Summary

There will be 3 modules per semester and each module has 3 hours of taught time per week for 12 weeks.

The 3-hour sessions consist of taught material, but also group workshops and practical exercises, such as problem-solving, searching, interviewing and many other activities.
