Team

Lorna Dodd – I am Head of Psychology, but if you are studying SH Psychology – I will also be your programme leader. A programme leader is someone who oversees the programme and is there to offer guidance and support on the programme that you are studying.

For those of you studying – SH Psychology with Criminology and SH Forensic Psychology – Stella Williams – is the programme leader.

Kate McGarry is the programme leader for SH Psychology and Childhood Studies and Anatoli Karypidou is the programme leader for SH Psychology and Counselling.

As well as your programmes leaders there are a number of key psychology staff that play an important part in your degree journey.

Brief Summary

Within the Psychology Subject area – all students studying a Psychology programme will have the opportunity to study together as one large Newman Psychology community for the core psychology modules that focus on social psychology, individual difference, biological psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, research methods, and classical and contemporary issues.

Lectures are delivered in interactive lecture mode, followed by small group workshops/seminars. where you will have the opportunity to apply the theory learnt in the interactive lecture into a hands-on practical workshop/seminar session.

Your main teaching will take place on campus. But this face-to-face campus-based delivery will be supported by technology / online activities.

Effective teaching and learning often integrates technology and digital media with traditional tutor-led classroom activities, giving you more flexibility to customise your learning experiences.
