Brief Summary

In Semester 1 you will be working closely with both the PWP teaching team here at Newman University and your NHS/Partner Talking Therapies Provider.

Your first module will be Engagement and assessment of patients with common mental health problems. In this module, you will learn to assess and support people with common mental health problems in the self-management of their recovery.

You will become able to undertake assessments identify the main areas of concern for your patients. This will involve use of assessment tools and clinical outcome measures as well as developing knowledge of mental health disorders.

You will be fully supported through your learning which takes place both on campus and at home via our Virtual Learning Environment (online).

Teaching and learning for this programme is highly experiential which means that it is very focused on development of practical skills and reflection on your practice. You will have lots of opportunities to practice skills with peers on the course and with our teaching staff.
